Non-Pharmacological Interventions

Various ways of non-pharmacological interventions include behaviour therapy, parent training, classroom intervention, etc. Children with ADHD benefit from consistent behavioural training in different settings (home & classroom). Therefore, parents and educators’ involvements are crucial to reach optimal treatment results. Both parents and school personnel can take part in behavioural management training for children with ADHD. Training covers how to respond to undesirable behaviours such as interruptions, aggression and incompliance with requests. For adults, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is the most clinically supported therapy for ADHD.
